Assembled In House: The Wall Between Us

The Wall Between Us is a collaborative art show between Erik Burke and I at Under the Rose Brewing Company. As the title suggests, the show attempts to dissolve notions of ownership and territory by replacing it with camaraderie and co-authorship. Artworks passed back and forth for one month between the two of us were created by one and then significantly altered by the other with paint and power tools.

The remnants have the appearance of urban facades that are both painted sculptures and sculpted paintings. We hope the dialogue they create reflects our open studio practice where we literally and figuratively seek to diminish the wall between our studios with a shared vision. We are proud to work in a collaborative studio space called Cuddleworks on Fourth Street. This new body of work conveniently, yet purposefully will be on display for one month at Under The Rose Brewing Company, our neighbors, just on the other side of the wall.
